The process of writing

Essays have never been one of my strong points in the past. They are not my specialty today either, but the more I write the better I have become. Some of my usual tendencies when writing an essay include structuring the entire paper through the introduction and constantly trying to change the grammer to avoid repetition. I usually will write my essays in front of the television because the background noise helps me concentrate. If it is too quiet then I can't focus because I tend to over think some situations. The most helpful part of the writing process to me deals with the formation of the introductory paragraph. This structures my writing and keeps me on track with the thesis. Revision is also crucial to me because every time I rewrite another draft, my paper usually changes in many ways. Essay 1 has taught me many things, and I can use these examples in my future writing or research assignments.

  1. I also find the formation of the intro the most important step in my essays. If a revision doesn't change much in my paper, then my paper usually wasn't very good to start out. I need absolute quiet so that I can focus, otherwise I'm distracted.
